Goals-2-Score, Inc – Director & Head Coach (2007-present)

He is a former player of the G2S Magic.  He is one of the players that help put the team on state and national maps.  He has been a part of some of the big upsets that in G2S Magic history.  He has played for Coach Howell since he was 7 years old.  He understands the G2S process to achieve success.

 

He coaches and trains student athletes during the Spring and Summer select basketball seasons.  He has a vast knowledge of the game and enjoys working with youth.

 

Playing Experience

 

Professional Basketball

He played for East Kentucky Miners in the CBA for one season in 2007. He tried out for NBDL Rio Grande Vipers in 2007.  He played for several different Pro-AM teams in Dallas-Fort Worth and averaged 10-15 points per game.

 

Eastfield Junior College, Richardson, TX (2003-2005)

In the 2003-2004 season, the team won the conference championship and finished in second place in the NJCAA, Division III National Championship Tournament.  He was the starting forward on the team that finished with a record of 25-10.  He averaged 12 ppg., 6 rpg., and 3 apg.  He earned the following honors:

 

·        Second Team – All Conference

·        Co-Freshman of the Year

·        First Team – All Region

·        MVP of Conference Tournament

 

In the 2004-2005 season, the team finished undefeated in conference and had six Division I signees.  He was the starting forward and team captain on the team with a record of 20-2 and was in the Top 25 of scoring in country in NJCAA Division III.  He average 22 ppg., 12 rpg., and 4 apg.  He had his career high of 40 points against Mountain View College.  He earned a scholarship to Birmingham Southern.  He earned the following honors:

  • Preseason National Player of the Year
  • First Team – All Conference
  • First Team – All Region
  • Top 20 at Jerry Mullins Basketball Camp
  • All-Star at Ballstars Basketball Camp

 

Birmingham Southern College (2005-2006)

In the 2005-2006 season, the team finished 12-4 in the conference and finished in 2nd place in conference tournament with a 20-9 record.  He was a starting forward in 21 of 29 games and team captain.  He averaged 12 ppg., 5 rpg., and 2 apg.  He scored 17 points and had 11 rebounds in his first Division I game against SEC powerhouse Alabama when they were ranked in Top 25.  He scored his Division I highs in points (24 points) and assists (6 assists) against Liberty University.  He had a career high in steals (5 steals) against Centenary.  He had three 20 point games and 4 double-digit games in points and rebounds during the season.  He earned a Player of the Week honor.  He also was Honorable Mention All Conference.

 

The program moved from Division I to Division III.  He transferred to Murray State to continue playing at the Division I level. 

 

Murray State University (2006-2007)

In the 2006-2007 season, the team finished 14-6 in the conference and finished in place 2nd in the conference tournament with a 17-14 record.  He was the starting forward and team captain.  He averaged 5 ppg., 5 rpg., and 3 apg.  He was second on the team in rebounds and assists per game.  He had two double – double games during the season.  He earned the Community Service Award.

 

James Bowie High School, Arlington, TX (1999-2003)

In 1999-2000 season, he was a starting forward as a freshman on the Junior Varsity for all games.

 

In 2000-2001 season, he was a starting forward on varsity team as a Sophomore on team that finished in tie for third in district.  Team lost in tiebreaker game and did not advance to state playoffs.  He averaged 9 points per game and 3 rebounds per game.  He was second in scoring.  He was voted District Newcomer of the Year.

 

In 2001-2002 season, he was starting forward that finished in second place tie in district and advanced to Area Round of State Playoffs.  The team lost to the No. 10 nationally ranked team in overtime.  The team was ranked 28th in Texas.  He averaged 12 points per game, 6 rebounds per game, and 2 assists per game.  He was second in scoring playing with fellow coach, Jarrett Howell.  He earned First Team All District and Second Team All Area honors.

In 2002-2003 season, he was a starting forward on the varsity team with a record of 24-7.  Team won district championship and advanced to Bi-District Round of State Playoffs.  He was a co-captain of the team.  He averaged 17 points per game, 12 rebounds per game, and 4 assists per game.  He earned the following honors:

  • Team Sportsmanship Award
  • District Player of the Year
  • First Team – All-District
  • First Team – All-Region
  • Third Team - All-State

 

Other Interests

 

He enjoys listening to music and hanging out with friends.  He is very involved with youth at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Arlington, TX.
